Race report ADAC Digital Cup 2024 Event 3 Imola 09.03.2024

At the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola (Italy), races 7-9 of the ADAC Digital Cup 2024 took place on 09.03.

The traditional circuit in Emilia-Romagna served as the venue once again.

Race 1 Sprint over 30 Minutes

Starting grid within the vehicle class: #106 starting position 2, #406 starting position 8.

After encountering technical difficulties, the Evora #106 with Jakob Fischer at the wheel immediately dropped to the end of starting group 1. Furthermore, a Stop & Hold Penalty was imposed, resulting in a satisfactory outcome of Xth place at the end of the 1st sprint race. The Audi TT with the start number #406, driven by Michael Görges, managed to finish in 8th place. Often, besides driving skills, luck plays a role in motorsport, which unfortunately eluded both drivers from the MSC Police Braunschweig in this race.

Race 2 Sprint over 30 Minutes

Starting grid within the vehicle class: #106 starting position 2, #406 starting position 6.

After a good start with leading kilometers, Jakob Fischer finishes in 4th place in the second sprint race of the day. Celine Benker pilots her Audi to 7th place in a turbulent race in the CUP 4 class.

Race 3 Team race over 60 Minutes

Starting grid within the vehicle class: #106 starting position 2, #406 starting position 8.

In the final team race with mandatory pit stop and driver change, Jakob Fischer and Michael Rickerts finish in 4th place in the Lotus Evora GTC in the CUP 1 class. Michael Görges was able to hand over the MSC's Audi TT to Celine Benker in 3rd place after an exciting start phase. Following an unavoidable collision, Celine crosses the finish line in her battered Ingolstadt sports car in 6th place.

Championship standings: After 9 out of 12 races, the Lotus team holds 2nd place in the CUP 1 standings with 163 points.
The Audi team maintains 7th place in the CUP 4 standings with 200 championship points.
