Ko-Bra Race ABS / ESP Motorsport and safety feature at the same time: Our newly developed Ko-Bra Race ABS and ESP! The 1st available motorsport ABS / ESP on the market especially developed for the Exige with KoBra 4-4 Brakesystem has and extensively tested. Our many years of experience in motorsport, the knowledge of the Exige Range itself and the feedback from our customers have made it possible for us to work and point out the essential points for development and optimization. The result is a plug'n'play solution that is just as suitable for everyday sporting use as it is for ambitious use on the track! The existing Lotus-DPM functions of the driving modes (Tour, Sport, Race and OFF) could be integrated and expanded. So if you make the effort to use the system right, you will definitely be faster and safer!
ABS: In the future, the limiting factor for you will (almost) be the choice of tires only! Typical racing deceleration forces of over 2g are possible now! Even when braking deep into the curve, the typical understeering of the standard brake is eliminated and enables precise steering through an optimal ratio between the maximum possible braking and lateral force control. The so-called ice mode (“hard brake pedal”) is prevented.
ESP: An ESP works through selective brake intervention and regulation of the engine torque. The lower torque in particular causes a considerable interruption in power. Thanks to our adapted regulation, you control the torque by the accelerator pedal only. The control allows higher drift angles and also power slides. Twists are still effectively prevented and corrected more gently. It is still possible to switch off the ESP completely - but it is no longer necessary for a hot lap time as overcompensating brake interventions no longer take place.
EDS: The electronic limited slip differential is no longer activated in our software to relieve the brake on the rear axle and protect it from overheating. However, we recommend a mechanical differential.
TC: The traction control is also no longer activated in our software in order to achieve better traction and full access to the engine torque.
Variable Settings: A previously unavailable option is added. You can use variable settings via the Lotus Mode selection-button. These can be adapted to the typical tire constellations (road / rain, semi-slick, slick), see pictures.
Data recording: All variables relevant to driving dynamics are made available via CAN bus and can be recorded via CAN logger (not included in the offer).

LOTUS CUP APPROVED: From Season 2021 onwards our ABS is also tested and approved for Lotus CUP Series!

Komo-Tec KoBra-4-4 sports braking system Exige Mk3 V6 "floated"
(Front and rear axle, 343/343 mm)
Now our KoBra-4-4 Brake-System is also available with floating discs for the Lotus Exige S V6. We use a 343x32 mm Brakedisc (floating) with alloy-pods front and rear of the high-quality manufacturer PFC (Performance Friction Brakes). At the rear alloy-pods, the handbrake is also covered. The alloy-pod in combination with the screwed-on and floated-beared Brakedisc reduces the weight significantly still if the disc diameter is 11mm bigger (to the factory spec). Our alloy-pods are made of high quality F52 aluminum. By using the two-piece brake disc, a larger disc diameter can be fitted and thus results in a lower fading tendency and a better temperature behavior. The Lotus/AP Brakecaliper is still used and distanced with an adaptor. When replacing the Brakedisc later on, the alloy pod can be used further and only the rotor itself must be changed. Another big advantage against the standard Brake-System: this kit can use identical brake pads and rotors at the front and rear.
Advantages of "Floated Discs": The new rotors have a smaller friction surface (than KoBra4-4 before), so that we can generate advanced braking power and at the same time better heat dissipation, while using optimized brake pads. Due to the resulting lower rotor temperature, the material-expansion and thus also the imbalance are lower. This (imbalance and temperature) minimizes the transfer of temperatur on the brake pot, ensures less forces in the overall Brake-System and thus also protects the wheel bearings from increased wear. In addition, the floated-rotor (compared to the standard disc) despite 11mm larger diameter and still is lighter. The slotts/grooves are used for better cooling, the removal of the brake dust and at the same time as a wear indicator. In contrast to the floating discs used by Lotus in the early Cup models, PFC works with a preloaded metal ring to get the otherwise rattling discs almost noiseless.

Replacement Friction Rotors for Kobra-Brake System
Our KoBra-Brake System is equipped with two-piece brake discs (alloy pot + friction rotors)
If the rotors are worn (no slots left or cracks through the outer diameter) you have to replace it.
Here in the article you can get all the available options of replacement rotors. We deliver a set for one axle (1x LH and 1x RH rotor incl. the fitting kit / bobbins. Normally you can continue with the alloy-pot that exists.
The following variants are used:
a) 295mm-Rotors
Use: KoBra 2 with 2pot-Standard-Caliper front for Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven using 4Zyl-Powertrain (incl. Fitting)
b) 308mm-Rotors
Use: Lotus Big Brake Kit with 4Pot-AP-Caliper as a replacemnt for the Standard-Rotor frontfor Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven using 4Zyl-Powertrain (incl. Bobbin-Kit)
c) 313mm-Rotors
Use: KoBra 4 and KoBra 4-2 with Komo-Tec-Caliper front and rear for Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven using 4Zyl-Powertrain (incl. Bobbin-Kit). Attention: Rotors come "dyno-bedded"!
e) 343mm-Rotors FLOATED
Use: KoBra 4-4 FLOATED with 4Pot-AP-Standard-Caliper front and rear for Exige V6 Range and 3-Eleven (incl. Fitting)
f) 362mm-Rotors
Use: KoBra 4 and KoBra 4-4 with 4Pot-AP-Standard-Caliper front for Evora (or Evora 400 rear, incl. Fitting)

For optimal braking performance ensuring sustainability, efficient cooling alongside an adequate braking system is crucial. Models like the Exige and 3-Eleven may face constraints as stock brakes are not always adequately cooled.
