In
addition to our EX530, our KT sport camshafts Phase 1, as well as reinforced
valve springs with titanium spring plates, are installed in this phase.
Finally, we
can offer our new 500+ power levels. In order to develop a perfect solution, it
took the necessary time and a test phase of 2 years to finally be able to
conclude with the use of our new Emu Pro16 control unit. The aim was not simply
to call up ever higher performance data, but to completely redefine the concept
in terms of stability and reliability and to complete it in peace, including
the necessary test phase.
Contrary to
the widely used method of simply generating additional power through increased
boost pressure, Komo-Tec focuses on an increase in performance by optimizing
the conditions of the overall system while minimizing mechanical and thermal
stress. After extensive calculations, CFD flow simulations, various prototypes
and numerous hours on the dynamometer, we were now able to produce a steadfast
530+ hp. After lengthy testing, we decided to continue using the Lotus
factory-installed Edelbrock 1740 supercharger on the Exige 4xx models and
optimize it to make it viable for the targeted performance. In order to ensure
stability in the 500+ hp class, pistons, connecting rods and other relevant
engine components are exchanged for those tested in racing. In the EX550 phase,
sport camshafts are also used
The
biggest difference to our previous EX kits is the change to the new,
technically substantially advanced, freely programmable control unit "Emu
Pro16". All standard functions of the vehicle can be retained and taken
over (ABS/ESP, TC, Cruise Control...). The OBD functions are also fully
functional. The use of two broadband lambda sensors guarantees perfect mixture
preparation. After intensive development on the ECU and the associated
coordination work, we can say that the suitability for everyday use is now on
an absolute OEM level.
This ECU
has also been successfully used in the Lotus Cup Europe and the experience we
have gained there with our racing cars has also found its way into the further
development of our conversions.
The
EX550 line phase is thus the second generation of a total of 3 power levels,
which will reach up to 600hp in the future.
The
highly efficient water-cooled intercooling, which is already familiar from our
EX460 power level, has been adapted to the larger charger and further
optimised. Thanks to the new intake air duct (airbox, mass air flow sensor,
throttle valve), in combination with the water-cooled charge air cooling, it
was possible to ensure a uniform flow to all intake ducts and thus also to
reduce the thermal load on the components. The corresponding high-performance
heat exchanger is installed in the front of the vehicle and integrated into its
own water circuit to cool the water in the intercooler (in the intake manifold
of the engine). An electric, variable-controlled water pump takes care of the
separate water circulation.

We have been able to adapt this kit to the Exige Sport 350 and Sport 380 with appropriate adjustments. The water-to-air intercooler makes it possible to lower the temperature of the intake air and thus significantly increase the efficiency. This allows a more uniform combustion and less tendency to knock and in conjunction with the increased Charger for a massive performance-increase even at higher outside temperatures and / or "harder" driving. The concept of intercooling is already known from our proven EX460 systems and is also used here. Including ECUmaster EMU Pro16 ECU mit KT Plug&Play Adapter!

EX460, the first Exige V6 with watercooled intercooler ... It thus represents the logical evolution of the proven Phase EX430 is that we can now introduce market-ready after 14 months of development and testing time. The main difference between the EX460 to the EX430 system is the water-cooled intercooler. The efficient cooling of the charge air, higher performance can be achieved without compromising the durability of the engine. Objective in our EX460 development was a high-efficiency charge-air cooling, minimum charge pressure losses and low component weight in conjunction with a smaller cross section. We were able to meet all requirements. To integrate an efficient intercooler core into the existing charger system, it was necessary to replace the original intake manifold to a completely newly developed component. The new intake manifold is made of milled aluminum from a solid and takes the intercooler, injectors and the supercharger. By intercooling it was now possible for us to optimize the boost pressure and the ignition timing to thus achieve an output of 455 hp, particularly noteworthy is a maximum torque of 490 Nm almost abutting quite early. By using the optimized standard supercharger, we achieved a significant improvement in power and torque in the midrev range, because there the supercharger is now working in the most efficient range. The thermal load on the engine-specific components decreases due to the lower charge air temperature (see "Media & Download”). The compressor is the standard component but revised internally. In front of the vehicle we fit a heat exchanger cooler to cool down the water for the intercooler core (in the intake manifold). The water circulation is powered by an electrical waterpump.

Based on our EX410 kit for Exige V6 and the already used components (manifold HJS-Sportkat, modified pulley) we add our KT-Sportsairbox and a new ECU-Software-Upgrade. The carbon airbox has a much larger volume and the used K&N sports airfilter has a larger surface. These two factors compared to the standard components of the kit get a much better airflow. With this modification in combination with the optimized EX430 ECU software, a further increase in performance is possible.

The "smallest" performance upgrade for your Exige S V6. In the EX370 phase, we replace the original Airbox with our Komo-Tec Carbon Sport Airbox and combine it with optimized software tuning. The better airflow behavior of the large airbox results in better performance (approx. 20 hp) and an increase in torque. No further intervention in the motor field is necessary and the assembly is very simple.
