This fuel pump is a direct replacement for the original part. Although the performance is improved compared to the OE part, we would recommend not to use these units for engine which deliver more then 260bhp.Although the unit looks similar, it is a modern unit and is far superior in design, the unit utilises a educter pump to transfer fuel from the tank to the reservoir can, unlike the old unit that used one section of the pump itself for this task. The pump itself is the latest version turbine type which is more efficient than the original centrifugal pump.
A big advantage of this design is the time needed to refill the canister, this is approx. 5 seconds, which is much faster than the old eductor designs.
The unit is plug and play and comes including a new fuel pump seal.The filter has now been integrated inside the pump housing, this makes it easier to install the unit and it prevents any mishaps to happen. (the filter will not pop off while installing the unit) The sensor used to measure the fuel level in the tank is a new type substrate type sensor rather than the old style wound wire sensor. Big advantage of this type of sensor is.. it doesn’t wear. The original wirewound type sensor can wear out over a longer stretch of time where this new type can’t.
The float arm is designed in such a way that it will fit OE, but also Pro Alloy Fuel tanks. The pump draws less current than the original design and ..it’s quiet! This is not an ill fitting cartridge pump replacement but a complete new unit including a base filter, level sensor, seal etc.
In other words… this is a real plug and play replacement!

Already to reduce weight, reduce rust and to prevent further contamination of the fuel and minimize the clogging of the filter.The fitting is very easy, because we use the original points. Also the standard pump of your Lotus can be used.The tank will be delivered with a mounting for the fuel pump at the original mounting points.Note: There is a possibility that the whole fuel cannot be drawn! DUAL INPUT DESIGN - As per the original AC Delco design the pump can take fuel from either the canister or the tank directly, or both simultaneously.Unlike eductor driven pump units, this has several advantages: -Virtually instantaneous HP output recovery from fuel starvation caused by fuel swash.Immediate recovery of the reserve canister refill cycle from empty, this is achieved by the pump itself via the refill ejector system. An eductor refill system by comparison would be stalled in this situation and unable to refill the canister until fuel enters the canister by gravity fill or swashing over the top.RAPID CANISTER REFILL - Even when supplying the entire pumps output to the engine the pump will still fill the canister from empty to full in about 6 seconds, quicker at higher fuel rail pressures and quicker still as the return fuel is added to the canister when not at full power, about 4 seconds!This is easily the fastest refill we have ever tested, as a reference the original OE pumps being around 10 seconds and the latest OE pump being about the same.It is also considerably quicker than eductor powered systems that are slow even when compared the original OE pumps.
LOW POWER DRAWAt around 6-7A it uses about the same or less power than OE pump despite the massive difference in output.

A new arm is supplied which will work correctly with both the OE and the ProAlloy tanks. The arm angle can be changed if preferred to adjust the reference “empty” reading of the Stack display.
